Water Problems...

Around a year and half ago, I began this site and dieted and worked out and lost around 30-35 lbs in a few months. Sad to say I gained it all back plus around 10 lbs. So i'm starting over and trying to stay positive. Last time I lost weight, I continued to drink Diet Coke and diet soft drinks until closer to the end of my weight loss I went to water. I am a Diet Coke addict. I would easily drink 3-4 large (32oz to 44oz) Diet Cokes/Diet Sodas a day. This time around, I decided to start out with dropping my most unhealthy habit of drinking soda. It's almost been 3 weeks and i've only lost 6 lbs. Last time I lost weight i dropped 7 lbs in the first week. I'm counting calories and exercising. Is this normal for weight loss to be slower at first when transitioning to water? Will it get better as my body gets used to drinking more water? Any advice or information would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I suspect the problem isn't just the water. Yes, you may need to get used to drinking more water since the caffeine in diet coke will act as a dehydrator and your previous weight loss may have included some chronic dehydration.

But don't be decouraged! Pee like a racehorse and love it!
