Core Armband vs Core 2 Armband?!

I am wondering if anyone knows what makes the Core 2 armband waterproof 100% to the Core only being water resistant. I ask because my sister in law and I did a test, she went swimming with hers and did laps and jumped in and everything for 2 hours and well that "water resistant" core armband was 100% waterproof! so I am confused to why it says water resistant and not to swim with it when she did and nothing happened?? I guess I am just debating if I should buy the new Core 2 when it seems I could just swim with the Core Armband..
anyone know more about it?

I'm not sure if its 100% waterproof but I know it's more water resistant than the core. This is because the regular core you have to actually plug in to sync with the computer, where the core 2 will communicate with the iPhone/android app AND computer via Bluetooth. It comes with a plug so if your computer doesn't have Bluetooth if will still work. So I guess because there's no open plug holes on the device its more water resistant.
I'm actually bummed out I was all set to buy the Bodymedia fit link a few days ago but now finding out core 2 comes out in august I'll have to wait until then. I definitely will like the smaller device, I wouldn't buy the regular core because the iPhone app is the main thing I will be using it with.0 -
I just bought the link armband two weeks ago and love it. And highly recommend it. My main use is with my iphone. I would be interested in upgrading to the waterproof version as long as it connected to my phone.
Do you know how it charges if there is no hole to accept a USB device? Maybe a magnetic port like the Macbooks?0 -
That's a really good point Scott I never even thought about the charging I'm curious as well! I was all set to buy the link but I just felt like it will be huge and then I know ill want the core 2 when it comes out and don't have $ to pay twice. I wish the core 2 was out now lol.0

As far as the reg core I wouldn't swim with it. It might operate okay for now but where they say it's only water resistant I'm sure eventually the moisture and water will ruin the USB metal connectors and also seep into the device itself.0

I just looked it up and apparently the thing that plugs into the computers usb you pop it in (like it pops into the arm band) and thats how it charges. I don't know about u but that metal band you can buy (pictured) looks like it would cut into your arm and be very uncomfortable. Ill stick with the regular band
