Running while wearing a bin bag

Hi, I've got a friend who I go to the gym with. He turned up yesterday wearing a bin bag underneath his under armour. He says it will help him lose fat during his run. Is this true? Or will it just help him lose more water weight?

Thanks,

Sean.

    Just water :)

If you've got a special outfit you want to fit in better for the first few hours after working out it might (might!) just have a positive effect, but on the long run, nope.

Water and it could also be rather dangerous as it will mess with the ability of this body to regulate basal temperature.

I think this is a tactic used by athletes such as boxers to ensure they are within their weight range before matches....its not actually changing the body fat % or burining more calories, it's just losing body fluids!
