 I am currently working on reaching a healthy weight. I have removed sodas and sweets from my list of things to eat and drink. Any suggestions on foods that provide energy would be great.

For breakfast I eat an egg in between two pieces of toasted Sarah Lee Delightfuls, That seems to give me way more energy than eating a bowl of cereal with banana. My husband on the other hand can go miles on a bowl of raisin bran so who knows.0

You're already making an improvement by removing that much sugar from your diet. Your insulin levels can get back to normal and you'll feel a lot more energetic as long as you get a normal amount of sleep.
I still pop open a sugar free red bull or similar during the day. Foods mixed in protien and healthy fats always help (meat, avacados, berries, etc). Keep your carbs in check too, but you don't have to go Atkins levels. You probably noticed that you get tired after a pasta plate or carb-intensive meal.
Also, weight training helps me. As long as my muscles are in a state of repair, I can feel my metabolism levels up throughout the day.0 -
The only suggestion that I can give you is to be wise about the choices you make in eating. Healthy eating needs to be a mind set and it's something that you have to want to do.0

Hi there, and welcome! I would suggest trying to incorporate protein into every meal and snack. So, if you'd normally have an apple as a snack, have one with a tablespoon of peanut butter. If you'd nomally have a bowl of cereal for breakast, eat a hard boiled egg along with it. Little, baby steps to change your way of eating is the way to go! Good luck!0
