TDEE / extra workout question

OK - so generally I only have time for about 30 - 45 minutes of exercise a day.. I use the TDEE-% and have put in that I work out 30 minutes per day. I get it - understand etc etc. (working well for me btw)

What I am wondering though is..say on one day this week I have extra time and choose to sweat it up a little bit. Should I aim to eat extra calories for that extra workout or just leave it and take it as a bonus deficit?
Will the added deficit possibly screw me up (lower level cals did NOT work for me) or will it benefit me since it is not an all the time extra workout..?!?

Thanks :)

If you're hungry from the extra exercise, then eat. For me, I'd just take the bonus deficit.

If it's an isolated incident, I don't worry about it...if it becomes routine then I up my activity level. This happens to me a lot as we get into spring and summer as I like to go for random, long hikes in the mountains on the weekends...usually about once a month or so. I can often burn an additional 800-1,000 calories doing this. For me it's an isolated even and I don't really worry about it...I may eat a bit more if I'm hungry and/or I use it as an excuse to have a few more beers on the patio when I get home. If it became a routine, weekly type of thing, I'd up my activity level to include it.

Summer coming means my own kids will be home, hardly think it will be routine haha. Wish it could as I am not sure if 45 minutes will be enough as I get further in. I will keep an eye on it (I track everything cal for cal) and if I do it more than once in awhile I will try and at least eat / drink a portion of them. :)

    Thanks!!
