I read in a diet booklet once where they suggested subtracting 100 to 200 calories a day off your allotment to account for incidentals such as licking food off your finger, incorrect calorie counts on labels, mints etc... Do any of you do this? Would you suggest doing it and, if so, how much would you subtract?

I sometimes will ADD an extra 100 calories to a meal if I know I didn't log everything or snacked on a few things, didnt add the tomatoes in a salad, had a sip of coke, or silly things like that.
Just add on a "buffer" number of calories if you feel that you didn't log everything or you need it to visualize how much you have left.0 -
I started using a kitchen scale last year and was shocked at how often I underestimates my numbers for the day. I think it all evens out in the end.0
