Need some advice

I just started my weigh loss journey, and I am doing great with eating healthy. I am not sure I am doing great as far as exercising all I am doing is walking. The first 3 days I walked 3 miles today I walk 5 miles, but I feel like I'm not doing enough even though my feet are extremely sore..lol. Is there anything else I can do other than going to a gym? I need to lose some before I gain some confidence to go to a gym. Thank in advance.
Here is what my calorie intake has been around lately

You could do a workout at home. I found a bunch of them on Youtube, like the first workout for Jillian Micheal's 30 day shred. It only takes about 25 minutes, but it's a great full body workout!0

Thats really low. On days I don't workout, I eat around 1770 and when I do workout I eat closer to 2000 (whatever makes my net 1770). You will probably need to eat more, if you start working out harder, but it's totally up to you and how you feel.
You could search youtube for workout videos, or pick up some workout dvds. I used a Wii last year and this year I'm using the xbox kinect.0 -
Thanks you, I'll look that up.0

I have a home based bodyweight workout in my profile. I lost 40lbs of bodyfat with it in three months when I started MFP two years ago. It flat works.
However, you're going to have to eat more...period. Because in all honesty, nothing's going to help much if you start undermining your metabolism with a steady lack of food. I don't know how tall you are, but at 24yrs old, you need to be NETTING that 1173, at a minimum (meaning if you're 5' tall). Once you start strength training and getting your focus down, I'd honestly be recommending closer to 2000cal/day. Every single woman I've ever trained has responded positively to over 1800cal/day when on a good training program.
Anyhow, good luck! And if you choose to do my workout, and need help...please feel free to let me know. I'll be glad to answer your questions.0 -
Dead right about net calories. If (for example) 1500 is your target you would want to be eating just under or just over 1500 a day, plus eating any exercise calories.
As for the exercise types I wouldn't rule out a gym - lots of people go to them and hardly any pay any attention to anyone around them. That said there's nothing at all wrong with walking and you're covering a fair distance.
Also, have a look at a 'fitbit', it'll log your movement all day long (not just when formally walking) and automatically sync with MFP so you know pretty accurately what you've done and how many calories you have each day. I've found it really useful.0
