Body Frame Size?

Hello everyone,
How come some people have a more rounded shape when they are overweight, like an apple, then when they lose the weight they have a small, petite frame? Sometimes they look as though they never had any extra weight. Do these people have small frames?
Conversely, why are others more shapely and rectangular when overweight, then when they lose weight, they become more shapely, yet often still have bigger arms, legs, frame in general?
Does body frame size account for this aesthetic difference? ( Part of it, at least....I know there are many contributing factors such as muscle, fat distribution, height, etc.)
Also, do you guys think that there are some big-boned people who will never look as good as the naturally skinny people because they are always kind of stocky?
I just want to hear anything others can tell me, because I'm pretty sure I have a large frame size, big calves/legs, etc., and I'm a bit apprehensive.
Sorry for the long post and thanks for answering in advance!

I do believe that people lose wt. differently and some parts become smaller than others. My arms, legs and chest lost all the wt. and all my wt. has settled in my abdomen. I am the perfect apple shape. Also, apple-shaped people usually have more health problems such as diabetes and heart disease...I have both. Bone mass makes some people appear different also.0
