Hey everybody!
My name's Alex, I'm 29, 5' tall and currently 85kg.I hopped on the scale a couple of days ago and was shocked! 13 stone. I haven't been that heavy in ages. A friend recommended MFP some time ago so here I am! I'll be taking this fitness thing nice and slow. Steady progress, many tiny victories are better than trying too hard and making myself ill.
I have many goals. Some of them are ridiculously challenging, like the swimming one. Forty lengths of the pool when at the moment I can barely manage three. I suffer from ME/CFS and some days I'm not able to do much at all so some of my targets are fairly easy, like walking at least 6 minutes a day, every day. I'd like to eventually be able to run 20 minutes without a break, to do twenty push ups all at once, to ride my bike a hundred miles, and to swim a kilometre, but my main, long term goal is to lose 30kg. I'm looking forward to the days when I'm not lugging all that weight about.
It's a long way off but I'm confident I can do it, especially if I get lots of friendly support from you guys. :-p
