Considering a job change, but there is a considerable drive involved.
How many miles do you drive?
What do you drive?
What do you spend on average a week for gas?
This would be most helpful.
THanks

Commuting blows.0 -
About 45 minutes...Hyundai Sonata and I usually fill up once a week. It gets about 34 mpg!0
-
Drive about 30 miles one way. Subaru outback. $50-$100 a week in gas depending if I can slip by with one fill up
Gas is less expensive here in TN.0 -
I drive 15 miles each way. It's half an hour one day, and I drive a 2000 Impala.0

7 miles each way (takes 45-60 minutes), but Monday morning and Friday afternoon is 70 miles each & a bit of running around on weekends, say max 50 miles. Friday takes 90 mins, Monday takes 2 hours
I drive a small 1.25L Ford and spend £40-60 a week0 -
About 6 miles each way.0

When I carpool... I drive about 300 miles every two weeks. I drive a '06 Cadillac STS. I spend about $100/month on gas. I know a more efficient vehicle would save on gas, but I live in Wisconsin and drive "country" roads to work. I need something with some weight to it that handles well when the roads are slick.
When I don't carpool... I drive about 200 miles a week, and I spend just over $30 more on gas per month.0 -
6 blocks
I will be walking/biking if this rain ever lets up...:grumble:
However, my daughters school is 11 miles, so about 25-30 minutes one way.
I drive a Pontiac Torrent in the winter and Mustang GT in the summer.
The Pony gets better gas mileage.
Maybe $60 every 2 weeks?0 -
Work from home. My '96 Eclipse has 80,000 miles on it.
I suspect the gas evaporates faster than I use it.0 -
People do what they have to do in order to work. I was literally raised to think that a short commute is a matter of quality of life and should be hugely considered when deciding where to live and work. My husband and I can both walk to work, but realize that is not a common set up.
Makes me sad to know how much time and petrol are being spent en route to and from the grind.0 -
About 10 miles.
2000 Pontiac FLYERBIRD V6 and I spend about 40.00 a week in gas but that's all of the other driving I do as well.0 -
I drive 45 miles each way. I have to fill my tank every three days, at between $35-40 a fillup. My car has gone from 16,000 miles when I bought it in 2007 to 200,000 miles now. I put 3,000 miles on my car every month. It's good that it is a reliable little thing (2005 Hyundai Elantra)0

It depends if I have the kids or don't- if I do, they go to daycare about 15 miles from my house so I drive about 35-40 miles to work. On days I don't have the kids it's less than 5. I drive a Chevy Equinox, that has been in the shop so I forget what I pay for gas.
I used to work in IC so on weeks without the kids a 35 minute drive and weeks with the kids a 50-60 minute drive. I was spending about $100 in gas a week and that was when gas was closer to $3.00.0 -
0 miles.0

My commute is 3 miles. I usually ride my bike. I've considered jobs with long commutes before and to me it depends on the type of driving. I will drive 40 miles on a highway with not too much traffic, but there are jobs that are ten miles away that would take me longer with the daily traffic jams.0

1.8 miles. I drive a Mazda 6 and I only need to get gas about once a month.0
-
I drive 40 minutes one way. I spend probably $50 a week in gas.0
-
7 miles each way, 5 days per week. Probably spend about $10/wk on gas. Drive a Solara w/a 6 cylinder engine.
ETA: 3/4 of it is highway, and I wish I could ride my bike.0 -

ford fusion 07

My job is one hour away from home and my school is a half hour away from both therefore I drive an average of 400 miles a week.
I am looking into a Prius C for gas mileage my car gets about 27mpg the Prius C gets 50 so I am looking forward to the savings.0 -
30mile one way
300 mile a week
$60-70/week on gas0 -
Well it takes me 3 minutes to get to work and if I didn't have to carry my bag and laptop I could walk to work. But I travel for my job quite often so I can't give you a good estimate.. I drive a Ford Freestyle and it's pretty good on gas mileage..0

So many jobs are in far flung suburbs around here that living downtown doesn't even help everybody.0 -
I drive about 25 miles each way; with traffic it taks about 40 minutes to get there. I spend probably $30 or so a week in gas. I drive a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer.0

I drive about 6 miles. I used to have a 40 mile commute and hated it. Especially on days I worked in the evening. Now I spend about 40-50 a week in gas. When I was commuting my gas budget was $450.00 a month. I love the $200.00 gas budget a lot better!!!!0

I have to go about 18 miles and it usually takes me anywhere from 20-30 minutes depending on traffic...both car and tractor traffic lol I drive a 2012 F-150 and it takes over $100 to fill my tank up from completely empty, but that lasts me almost all month because it has a 36 gallon tank.0
