Why doesn't MFP count calories burned doing strength exercises? I just logged in 50 squats and it doesn't count them as burned calories?

because it can't track it. did you do 50 bodyweight squats or 50 squats with 225lbs on your back? equal reps, FAR more calories burned doing the latter.

The weight portion is only for tracking reps and sets.

if you want to just add something for the sake of doing it, there is a laughably innaccurate counter for resistance training under cardio.
