Wrist Weights in exercise log

I have been doing cardio boxing on the xbox360 and decided to add 5lb wrist weights today. so now when i log it for the day, do i do two separte entries? one for the boxing with the calories that the xbox gives me plus and entry for weight training with the calories that MFP sets?

Curious about the program. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved?

That's what I use anyway. Personally I don't log the exercise with my Xbox; but that's because I have a FitBit. I don't want to double dip the burned calories so I just use whatever my FitBit reports back to MFP.

I also use wrist weights; 1.5lb per wrist. Honestly I don't think the weight I use makes that much of a difference in calorie burn. If you're using 5lbs per arm, maybe it would.

When in doubt I'd under report rather than over report.

You should reconsider using wrist weights, they don't make a notable difference in terms of calories expended because it's mostly momentum. They can be detrimental to your joints and ligaments.

cleomouri - yeah its your shape: fitness evolved and i use 5lb wrist weights.

young_gravy - are you just referring to the wrist weights being bad or free weights as well?

Wrist weights. you are adding weight to punching motions and that can result in injuries. It is like running with ankle weights. There isn't enough resistance to consider it a strength exercise and the risk for injuries don't make it that appealing.

If you insist on keeping the wrist weights (which is fine) I would recommend you continue to log it the same as the previous work outs.
