Compare and contrast what interests you, what the features are, and what you can afford. I have a cheap little Cardio Style, but I love it.

I have a Sole e35. It's very sturdy, smooth, quiet and withstood my highest weight. I also tried a Precor, but didn't find the stride comfortable.

If you're big like me, the Lifestyle commercial grade stuff is excellent. I've been beating up their machines for years and they all run like new at my gym.

I own a Precor Elliptical and is the best one I have ever tried! (friends', gyms, etc.) Hope you find one you like

Did the elliptical help with your weight loss? I am using mine everyday now for 2 weeks, hoping for some great results from it.
