Beet and kale cravings

I have been craving beets and kale. Every day, I have been waiting with anticipation for my daily beets! Today I took and orange, kale, protein power, beets and almond milk and made a smoothie. An odd color, but really good! I must be loosing it.

IMO, such cravinngs indicate you are needing some nutrient from those particular foods. In my experience with similar cravings, once your body has obtained sufficient quanties of the nutrients the craving or anticipation will cease.0

there is a difference between cravings and excitement. When I meet a new food that I like and is really healthy, it's all I want. I wouldn't run out and get tested for deficiencies yet. Enjoy your yucky veggies!0

I too think you are losing it. Roast the beets, or make Russian borscht! You can keep it in the fridge for days, and just microwave a bowl when you get hungry.
You can make kale with sausage and white beans, in a soup or in a skillet dish. OMG ! Best way.
We had kale in a salad yesterday, and, surprisingly, it was good. I think the key was that they cut it into rather small pieces.0 -
I love borscht. I also love kale with yogurt smoothie. Craving vegetables is better than craving a cookie! Last month I was craving a coke, i rarely drink soda normally, so it was bizarre.0

Lol I had this for dinner last night!
I roasted beets .
I made some caramelized onions on the stove top.
When the onions were ready I added kale to the skillet.
When the kale was done I served it up on a plate and added some slices roasted beets.
I topped it with some balsamic glaze.
It was super yummy, especially if you like beets and kale! :flowerforyou:0
