is it possible to just tone up at home without having to step foot in a gym? arms, legs, etc. I'm a little insecure when it comes to hitting the gym, but I really enjoy working out at home. walk, treadmill, stationary bike, ab lounge, and various exercises (squats, etc).
I'm really not up to date on working out info & stuff.
thank in advance. <3

I have a bench, bar, rack, plates and plate loadable dumbbells. A good lifting program is definitely doable at home. I only get to the gym when my kids are visiting their grandparents during the week, which is really rare. I can't max out my lifts because I don't have a spotter, but I can still lift nice and heavy.

I have one of those stretchy bands with handles- you can, with a little practice, work your entire body between commercials. (TONS! of videos on youtube to show examples.) I love that it takes up no space & I can do rounds in my tiny studio apt.
I also do a round of squats, lunges, butt lifts, & some abs.

There are a lot of great workout videos that incorporate weights that are awesome for "toning"/building muscle. You can get free videos off of you tube.

one book (or e-book): You Are Your Own Gym.

If you really get into it, another couple of books worth looking into are:

    Convict Conditioning, and

Pushing the Limits by Al Kavadlo.

Definitely able to tone at home without ever stepping into a gym.

Also, there is a bodyweight workout group on MFP - look up Bodyweight in the groups.
