hello from Kent

Hi all,

I've been doing a mixture of losing weight/attempting to lose weight now for about 3 and a half years. Thankful to say I have never gone back properly to my "old ways" (eating as much rubbish as I want, no exercise and generally being very overweight and unhealthy) but like most normal humans I do give in to the odd junk binge, I love my booze, etc.

Anyway at the moment I am focussing more on losing body fat and inches as the scales really demotivate me. I am currently 4kg heavier than I was at my lowest weight but 3% less body fat and qute a few inches lost so I think it's important to look at the bigger picture. I've recently been told by my PT to go on a 4 week strict diet - no alcohol, no coffee or tea (excluding green tea) and no cheat meals whatsoever so I've decided to start using this to get me on track.

I am really interested in fitness and nutrition anyway so I thought it would be good to speak to some like minded people and I'm sure that will help me stick with it. Look forward to chatting :)

Alice

Welcome. Congrats on your progress and I think you are right the scale is supposed to be a tool to being healthy but it is so on sided that many times it lies to your face. Body fat % is the key. Good luck with your challenge it will be a learning experience.
