The great post weight loss wardrobe debate...

Ok, so I've lost a bunch of weight and now 70% of my wardrobe no longer fits. The question is, do I do a big purge and get rid of all the clothes that are too big or do I hold on to them 'just in case' I put weight back on? Would this be a self fulfilling prophecy? What are you doing with your clothes?

DO NOT hold onto them! You don't want to gain the weight back, right? Make it a really negative thing--if you do, you need to spend money on more clothes.
Donate them to goodwill/salvation army/other good organization in your area. Other people can use them, you will never need them again.
I cannot wait to get rid of my "fat" clothes! But I'm not there yet.
Congrats on your hard work!0 -
:flowerforyou: Get rid of the old clothes. Unless you feel that once you've reached goal you can take it easy and go back to your old habits -- in that case you'll need the old clothes because you're bound to gain all the weight back! If you make a lifestyle change you won't need the old clothes because you'll continue to eat healthy.
Until you reach your goal weight, go shopping at thrift stores - you can find great clothes at great prices.0 -
Seems like the other two hundred times this topic has come up, there hasn't been much debate involved.

I'm not an expensive clothing shopper so getting rid of stuff has never been to stressful for me. I kept all my skinny clothes, and I'm looking forward to ditching the interim fat stuff.
I had to do the re-wardrobe twice... once from size 22-14. then from 14-10/8... When I was a 14 I hit the thirft stores, because I knew I wasn't done getting skinny.
I'm back to the 14 but I know I can ditch these clothes soon. (I will keep mine because I may have another baby, and there is several months where you just can't let it get to you0 -
Have a naked lady party! Get together a bunch of friends that are also losing weight/changing shape, and exchange clothes! It works awesome and if your friends have style it's fantastic.

GET RID OF THEM!
For years I've had clothes ranging in size from 24 to 30 and subsequently have been a size 24 to 30 for YEARS. I finally said enough is enough and I'm down to an 18/20 and have had to start buying things. I'm getting rid of the big stuff and only keeping ONE size bigger.

first off congrats on all your hard work...
on the clothes I would say get rid of 75% hold on to some classics like your favorite jeans, blazer that now to big little back dress only what you felt good in while at your upper weight... then next year donate them as well ... you wont need them...
If some were expensive go to a consignment shop they will sell them for you so you can get $$$ towards your new wardrobe..0
