So I'm 6'5, 165, wanting to gain weight(muscle), but I have reallly soft belly fat? I don't want to lose any more weight as I have lost like 40 pounds in the last year. I just want to know why it is like that? I can see a faint 6 pack and feel it, even when not flexed but still the soft fat is so damn annoying. Help?

When you lose weight first of all your fat cells just shrink, they deflate, but they still hang around. It takes a long time for them to reduce in number. So when you lose weight it can feel softer. It will go eventually but it just takes time.

Fat cells do not reduce in number. I have the same number of fat cells as when I was 200 pounds heavier but they are now smaller. The only way to reduce the cells is by having skin surgery and cut them out.

Soft patches are common under the skin.
