Salt cravings

I just don't understand people who get chocolate cravings. I don't ever want to eat sweet things. Alcohol, who needs it. Large amounts of carbs, whatever. Soda and pop, what's the big deal. On my new lifestyle I am easily eating the good things with no problems except one. I just want salt. We cook most of our own food from scratch, no shop bought, factory produced ready meals loaded with the dreaded sodium for us. I just have this constant craving for more delicious, flavour adding salt.
Is there anyone out there who is having the same issues?

You might do a quick search for adrenal fatigue symptoms. I know this is a symptom of adrenal fatigue.

Yes, I salt my food. If you're not hypertensive and don't have any unique medical reason or family history to be concerned about, salt it up! Just know that high sodium can lead to water retention as your body balances these things for you. However, the differential weight related to sodium will always be water, and can be eliminated at any time in several days with plenty of water and lower sodium intake.

OMG YES! But I have learned through this lifestyle change that I am hugely affected by sodium. A bad sodium day shows up as 2-4 pounds on the scale the next day. I have lowered my BP by 10 points both top and bottom numbers since eating better but I still crave salt!

I have only found one thing that satisfies my salt tooth with fairly low sodium and that is Triscuit Brown Rice baked with Sweet Potato Roasted Sweet Onion. It's not great for you but it's not awful either. All of their "real food" options are decent.

I miss lunch meat so bad!

im the same way. i work in a chocolate shop, and could care less about sweets. but i love salty stuff!!!! sodium does make you retain water, but you can sweat that out. just be careful how much you use, cause it can affect different aspects of your health.

everything in moderation. salt your food. just dont go crazy. good luck!!!!
