Alcohol within net calories

If you have a drink, but your calorific intake is still within its net, will you still lose weight?
Dunno why but I'm feeling guilty about the idea of having a drink when I'm sure if you're within your boundaries it's fine.

Yes, absolutely. In many respects, a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. However, alcohol isn't particularly nutritious, which means that if you replace enough real food with booze, eventually you'll reach a point of malnutrition. But one drink? Or six every once in awhile? Absolutely no problem.0

Great, yes, thought as much. They are "empty calories", yes, but I won't feel so bad now about including them.0

As I just posted on a few other topics, I'm not giving up my booze. No way. No how. If incorporate it into my diet and stick to my calories, I still lose weight. At a mere 1,200 calories a day, I still get my nutrition AND beer in! My drink of choice is Crispin's hard cider. It's about 7% alcohol and only 257 calories for 22 ounces!!! It has no fat, 15 grams of carbs, 13 grams of sugars and a healthy 7.3% of my daily iron! LOL0

Good beer is good. I just eat less if I intend to drink, and then don't worry about it.
There are some beers available that are lower in sugars but potentially higher in nutrition, like a belgian "Table beer"
I don't drink if I intend to work out though, alcohol makes working out hurt.0 -
I can't speak for "you". But for me...including my intake of beer hasn't affected my weightloss.0

Of course you will. I have a drink (or two) almost every night. There are some things we just can't live without0

I require red wine... Cabernet to be specific. It is a prerequisite that I have a diet plan that includes my precious red. I have settled that 'moderation' will be key, and I, despite the loathing I feel at having to accept that I cannot partake in my nearly daily consumption... I will be satisfied with a couple glasses on the weekend, combined with eating nutritiously and commitment to excercise, I will still attain my goals without having to completely abstain. Calorie for Calorie all being equal tho'.... (not so very equal as someone above said nutrition wise) there's way too much sugar in most alcohol, so I definitely feel that drinking in any either continuous sitting, or regularity would result in nothing possitive.0
