When I first made a serious commitment to workout regularly and actually stick with it in Feb, one of my short term goals was to be able to do a full back arch. I think the last time I was able to do so I was 14 or 15. I'm nearly 26, and I've been going moderately hard (just finished Level 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred yesterday, starting level 2 tomorrow). I decided to take a break from 30DS and just do some stretching and crunches.. and I thought, 'hey, maybe i should try to see if I can do that arch.."

lo and behold..

I'm only a short way into my jorney, but it's nice to see some progress and get some strength back in my arms.

my goal weight is a lofty 150lbs from my current 210.. (i'm 5'10)

I'm always looking for supporters and friends, and would be thrilled to make some new friends.so add me if you'd like!

What are some of your short-term goals, outside of weight being lost?

Some others of mine include fitting into a dress i bought in 2010 and learning how to do a cartwheel.

I have my 7 goals listed on my profile which includes losing back fat- succeeded, loosing my pouch, (one I didn't write but did want was to run a few miles without stopping- succeeded), lose a few inches around my breasts- succeeded, and fitting into a small adorable sun dress (my legs have always been to big and stumpy for them and my breasts were always too big to keep in. We'll see if I reach that one soon!

Awesome! I like this thread, as I was just working on making a blog post of my mini goals. I'm very "list oriented" and it's great motivation for me to remind myself of all the little things I can do, that I couldn't previously.

So far they revolve around being able to jog/run for longer periods of time (I'm working on C25k / can only jog 8 1/2 minutes without breaks), being able to do more push ups, etc.

    Great job and congratulations!

My big goal for this summer is to make it into the top 5 for my division in my town's 5K summer series and in the top 5 for my division in at least one individual race. I've never been a runner before this year, so it's a challenge. My other near-term goal is fitting into a lovely work dress that has been hanging in the back of my closet for 2 years. I tried a couple weeks ago, and I'm getting close!

you can jog a lot farther than I can without a break! way to go! i'm jealous. last time i tried to jog continually i lasted i think 3 or 4 minutes, but now i'm going to add a new thing to my short-term goal list! thanks for the idea!

i'm all about the small victories. it also makes the small failures, like eating a cheeseburger, seem that much less important.

one of my other victories was passing the burrito place and optiong for a fiber-loaded kashi bar. 1560 calories instead of probably 812394087u28o35.m (yes. so many calories i needed letters) in a burrito. i was so happy all day

My main short term goal was to be able to be able to put my wedding band back on. When I was pregnant with my 9 year old, I gained so much weight that I had to remove it. It would not fit on my finger again until a few months ago. It is now a perfect fit again. I know this is not an exercise goal, but it was an important one for me.
