Container Gardening
Has anyone else done any container gardening? If so, what tips would you give us for growing some vegetables (tomatoes and peppers) and some herbs? We have started some plants from seeds and they are a few inches tall already but we aren't real sure what size containers we should transplant them in or how many per container. The research we have done is conflicting as well so we thought we would solicit some advice from someone that may have had some success with it. The tomatoes are beefeater and we have a dozen plants. The peppers are a mixed variety and there are a dozen of those as well.

I am not the greatest about watering my plants... but that aside what i have had on my deck the last 3 years are 4 pots that are approx 16 inches tall, with the circumference approx the same. I have in them two plants each, ie, two tomatoes, or two peppers etc.) For Herbs, i have two long planters, 36in long, foot tall and i have 3-4 herb plants each in them depending on size of plant i bought.
The biggest keep in the containers is to keep stuff watered - I end up getting lazy bc we cant just reach with a hose (second story deck) so it takes quite a few watering cans to soak everything.
Just make sure you adapt your plants/location of planters for the sun you get.
Good Luck!0
