Constant overuse injury?

Hi guys
Everytime i go running i get a pain in my right calf - right between the muscle and the bone. I had my feet checked by two professionals to make sure i was wearing the right type of trainers and both said i was (i also had a proper fitting previously to stop this problem).
So the second guy i went to was in a specialist running shop and he checked my feet and my running and my stretching and he said because everything i was doing was right he suspected it was an over use injury - so i told him it been doing it since i started running (a year ago) and always after a couple of mins and i always have at least two days rest inbetween, so what he suggested was that everytime i go running i treat it like an injury when i get home - the whole RICE thing
has anyone else had this problem? what did you do to stop it or to help it?

Hi Katie,
I had this problem when I started running and it wouldn't go away!! It even felt tender when I touched it, so I really believed I'd chipped the bone or something. I now have a sports massage every few weeks and don't get the pain anymore. Have you tried that? The first one will be very painful especially the calf, but afterwards it will get easier.

I know you said calf, but it's not hurting on the front of your leg is it? like along the shin bone? if that's where it hurts it could be shin splints, from running or ground that is too hard. try running on tracks only. there are also methods for taping your ankle/along the sides of your leg that are supposed to help prevent it.
if it's in the back under the actual calf I have no idea.0
