Sooooooo..Opinions and thoughts please.

Hey, I'm Adam and I'm 220 pounds 6ft and 20 years old and I need to lose 40 pounds by july 15th (Just about 3 months) and keep it off, however I really lack motivation. I have no license so I can't get to the gym or go places very often, so I'm pretty much a depressed hermit. What should I do? I've lost 80 pounds before, but I gained 40 of it back very quickly because I'm self employed and my job consists of sitting on the computer all day. Help please.

Make sure that you are eating a healthy diet and logging your food here on MFP. There are many exercises that you can do without ever setting foot into a gym. Google "home workout" and you will be given plenty of options, you can also go for a walk or run around your neighborhood. Don't let a desk job be your excuse for not reaching your goal. Stay consistent and keep trucking, you will get there.

Sorry to say, but you didn't gain 40 pounds back because you have a desk job.

There's no guaranteed way to "lose 40 pounds by July 15th" but maybe you can do it - how long did it take you to lose the 80 pounds?

Figure out what your daily calories should be by clicking on "Settings" at the top of the page on the right hand side - and keep your calories under that number. I don't exercise so I don't add any exercise calories to add to my daily total. If you keep your calories under our daily allowance you will lose weight. Voila!

Look into ordering insanity or p90x DVDs. You dont have to go to a gym you just do it at home.
  • You can find a lot of work out videos on Youtube. There are plenty of exercises you can do from home without any fitness equipment. You could try taking walks or running around your neighborhood as well.
  • go out and jog.you have to do it in the am hours as you lose motivation through out the day
