Too many fruits a day?

Just talking to a lady at who has lost 33 pounds since January following the 5 veg and 2 fruits a day. I was mixing in 2 serving of fruit with my protein shake in the am. I had more fruit in the pm (apple plus another serving). I don't think I was having the full 5 vegetables. I initially lost a little but just last night gained 2 pounds back. help? Range of calories 1200-1300. Fat grams under 30 usually under 26. Exercising 4x a week ...couch to 5k. (30 minutes walk/run). minimal weight training (just started, using small weights). Just frustrated.

Hard to tell. It's not unusual for weight to fluctuate by a couple of pounds day to day, and it doesn't necessarily mean that you've gained weight. And especially for us ladies with our hormone fluctuations.

On the other hand, for some people (such as myself), any sort of intestinal "issues" (I have IBS), can mean that fruit and vegetables (some types more than others) will cause bloating, water retention, gas, etc. I do eat fruits and vegetables, but I'm careful with things like apples, pears, peaches, mango, broccoli, etc., etc.

As long as bloating is not the case, and you're within your calorie range, I wouldn't worry about a slight movement in the scale. Weight loss does not go down in a straight line.

Try easing up on the fruit and getting more green veggies in and see if things change. Fruit does have a lot of sugar in it that's why I only have 1 a day. Sugar can bloat and retain water too. Hang in there. Every person is different. You have to keep trying different things til you find what works for you.

I sometimes eat 4 fruits a day. I don't use the smoothies, i take an apple or pear for a snack in between meals and often have berries for desert. I try to stay away from canned fruits when I can and just eat fresh.

Well first off, your fat intake is probably way too low and negatively impacting your health and weight loss. Low fat diets are unhealthy and slow your metabolism. How much do you weigh? If known, what's your body fat percentage?
