scale hardly moved but inches lost!

So I took my measurements seven days ago and also my weight, when I weighed myself at the end of the week I had only lost half a pound. I wasn't particularly discouraged because I had set up a pound a week as my goal. I want to go slow and do something I can maintain and not gain back. I have been exercising a lot, at least an hour of brisk walking and hiking a day. Along with eating better I have felt so much better my energy level is better than it has been in years and to me it felt like my thighs and waist were whittling away. Well I lost an inch around my thighs, waist and hips! I can't believe it. So my measurements are much more impressive than the scale. I guess I must be doing something right. Anyone else have a similar experience?
