My humble NSV's and milestones
Options
So for the past 6 or so months I have changed my perspective of fitness. It was never about the scale for me, even when I started but now its more about how my clothes fit and above all, how well I can move around. I can now climb stairs, and when a little over 1.5 years ago I woulda died doing 10 steps, now I can do 4x7 stories and still have the energy to easily go for a 30 minutes weight lifting and 30 minutes walk. I used to keep a list of big milestones that I haven't really kept current but a decent amount of changes have made so I guess I'm making the thread to update the NSV's/new milestones
1) Weight lifting and moderately enjoying it and keeping at it for 8th week now. This is huge for me since I hated weight lifting and always preferred a sport like boxing. Every time I lift is a new PR/milestone (doing stronglifts)
2) Be able to climb 4x7 stories of building and go for a long walk + weight lifting.
3) Yesterday I put on new pants that my family brought for me. They bought the size that I used to wear 10 years ago before I went for US and they're still a bit loose
4) I can bench press and walk around with my nephew in my hand for a long time. He's 3 years old and getting heavier
5) I was able to lift a gas cylinder (Not sure how heavy, its gotta be atleast 50 kgs) and walk 2 blocks + 5 stories of stairs which was a huge NSV for me.
6) Lost 45ish lbs since I started on MFP (I weight myself like once every 6 or so months). This included the time when I kept getting off track , gained bunch of weight but my wonderful and amazing friends kept dragging me back (Thank you all!)
Above all, I look at my reflection in my computer screen and not cringe at the double chin guy I see in there. Scale is still not a priority for me, I still don't measure myself. FITNESS is still my priority. My ability to move with ease. Small things like the cool leg over another leg thing while sitting was impossible for me but is a possibility. I will soon need a new belt because this belt is running out of holes (teehee).
Things like burning 3500 calories in a day doesn't matter anymore and aren't considered milestones by me. They're cool and I am still proud I did it but... I'd rather just burn moderately and eat properly than try to go for record number of calories and burn myself out in the process.
Thank you all for all the help and support! And a very special thanks to Jen for always being there for me

Hi taunto. Nice work, I agree that carrying/lifting heavy things can often be the nicest, prominent and practical NSV.0

Ok, now I'm crying. You did this b/c you wanted to change your life. No one could have done it for you. I am proud of you and see a happier person because of what you did. I am thrilled that I could even be a small part of it. You just needed a small kick in the butt occasionally. You have been there to support me, too. So it goes both ways on here. love ya, Jen0
