Ipod for working out

Do any of you use an ipod while working out? My gym has the music so low it can barely be heard. I am looking to get one of these but honestly know little about them. Which one would you get for working out?

I really like my Sansa Clip+ .... just clip it to your sleeve or waistband

Lots of memory, uses Windows Media Player for software (accepts downloads from many sources) has a menu (unlike the iPod Shuffle) .... Less pricey than Apple products

See, I just use my iPhone 4. Granted, the thing is bulky, but I can listen to music, text whomever, Facebook & edit my profile on here using the MFP app. But it gets the job done. If you work out at a gym, a lot of the time, they have little comparments where you can set your phone & water bottle & all that jazz down. I just use that instead of buying a separate mp3 player for the gym.

    Hope that helps!

I splurged on an Ipod nano (4th generation) in 2008. I still have it and it still works. It has even been dropped to the point the screen cracked. It's been dropped into a sink full of water and had a few other undesirable things happen to it. I'm not exactly easy on it. You have to use itunes to sync music to Ipod's, but the music doesn't have to be bought from itunes. You can import music into the itunes library from other places on your computer and from cd's. I personally think they are worth the money, but that is mostly because I've seen my mom buy cheaper brand mp3 players and have to replace them every few months. (One of my friend has an ipod even older than mine still...I believe it's one of the first ipod nanos).

**It has now been replaced by an iPhone 4s that my hubby bought me for christmas, but it does still work and I keep it as a back up in case anything happens to my phone.

edit: If you don't mind used electronics, gamestop.com sells refurbished ipods. Some of the older generation ones go for as little as $13.

I use my iPhone 4 for music.

If you're looking to get just a music player, I recomend the ipod shuffle

I have this too! I love it! I considered an ipod but one around the same price as this mp3 player was too basic. I didn't need touch screen, but I did want a screen. I can also use the radio at the gym to tune into the tv shows!

whatever player you get, it's nice to have bluetooth so there aren't any wires to get caught in anything.
