Calling all fitbit users

I just got a fitbit at the end of last week and started using it. I have MFP set as "slightly active" and it gives me 1200 calories everyday to eat plus my exercise calories.

So today, I have cleaned my downstairs (about 3 hours) and went to crossfit where we did a lot of jumping rope. I wear my heart rate monitor whenever I work out and it told me I burned almost 600 calories during crossfit. First question, am I supposed to track that or does the fitbit adjustment take care of it? Also, do you feel that your fitbit gives you a lot of calories back? So far today, the fitbit says I have burned 2,535 calories, which seems like A LOT to me and has adjusted to give me 1348 calories back on MFP, that seems excessive as well! Looking for any and all advice!

I usually prefer to override my fitbit calories for exercise with my HRM results (though when I'm doing running/jumping type things they're often pretty close). Fitbit will only count what it thinks are steps, so it might mist some of your 'moves'.

1200 sounds very low, especially if you have it set to "slightly active". I think part of getting 1348 calories back to eat is due to having your daily calories set too low in the first place.

I find that my fitbit adds alot of steps at times when I have been driving as well!

I also feel that 1200 calories is low, but that's what MFP set for me. Although my calculated BMR is slightly over 1300, so I usually try to eat at least that. I just don't want to eat back 1300 extra calories based on fitbit if I haven't truly burned that. I would probably have a very hard time eating 2500 calories without eating crap anyway.

I use to have mine set to 1200 also (my BMR is 1363) but I'm trying to eat more lately (I stopped losing) but I find myself having a hard time because I'm trained myself to eat low calorie meals, I feel like I'm undoing that by having to find stuff to eat for the purpose of getting my calories up. I don't eat all mine back (it's my "safety net" for the stuff that's been under estimated).
