TIRED.....

I am starting to get a little depressed with what's going on lately. I am a full time honor's college student, in my 30's, who's married, has one child, and works part-time on the weekends. I am tired. Today, After my first class, I slept in my car for almost 2 hours because I was exhausted. I just turned in an eight-page research paper, took an exam, studied for my next two quizes, getting ready to read a memoir to do a project due in less than 3 weeks, I have final exams coming, and I just feel like I'm tired. My child is in a scouts program, cooking dinner, trying to spend time with the husband, who works until late, homework, housework, etc, I just feel like I can't wake up or have the energy to add a workout program. I was running every morning at 5:30a but I'm just tired.
When I had my break between fall and spring semesters, I lost almost 30 pounds! But....now I haven't lost a pound since! The semester seems to steal the momentum and I feel horrible about it Just wanted to vent and hear any suggestions from other non-traditional full time students.
xoxo

If you're feeling so rundown, then don't worry about getting a workout in. Focus on your family, schooling, work, and just eating right. Don't worry about losing more weight, just maintain for now. I go to school full time (20+ hours a week) and work almost full-time (30+ hours a week), and I volunteer with a local medical program (we provide free medical at concert venues around the area) though not as much because of school and working more. Sometimes, I just can't do the gym. Not because I don't have time, but because I am SO exhausted. And I've done like you many times - gotten out of class, gone to my car and just slept.
Listen to your body.
If you do really want to get a workout in, keep in mind you don't have to do a full hour or 30 minutes, you can always do some sit-ups, push-ups, squats, lunges, or jogging in place, etc. for 10-15 minutes. A little is more than nothing. But what I have learned if you do too much, you will make yourself sick, and with the lack of energy you'll have a harder time recovering. Don't get to that point.
Best of luck to you!0 -
Thank you so much!! I'm on my way to bed...just finished dishes...you brought up some very good points...maybe I'll try little things...when I'm helping my daughter do homework....maybe a few squats or something. I was thinking....Daily recommended = 40min/day... well....goodnight.0

Wow - you do have a lot on your plate...I too remember sleeping in my car in between work and school. IMHO - you should watch what you eat and try to maximize your sleep...if you do feel a need to workout, maybe try to multitask and do something fun and active with your child. Also, during busy times, being able to maintain your weight is a big accomplishment too and should not be negated0
