I am going out to dinner tonight for a co-worker's retirement party. It's an italian restaurant (not a chain) and I have no clue what to eat...
My normal italian food of choice is eggplant parmigiana (pre-diet)
HELP! I want to make a good choice...

I bet you'll find a nice salad topped with chicken there with a low cal vinegarette dressing on the side and Ice Tea. :happy:0

If you dont go out very often then I say eat whatever you feel like!
If you want to make a better choice - choose something in a tomato-y sauce (rather than cream), skip the parmesan added at the table, ask for a smaller portion if possible (or order entree size with a side salad), avoid things with sausage, chirizo etc... and try to choose something with vegetables in it.0 -
See if you can find their resaturant website with the menu. You can then check better ( aka - wiser) options prior to arrriving.
if not able to see menu , check MFP database for "italian food" choices. it can help.0 -
Thanks everyone for your responses! I was thinking Greek Spaghetti...0

I would suggest ordering a child's portion of something.0

Ask for a to go box when they bring you your food. Divide half of it and put in the box. Out of sight out of mind. Give it to someone at work tomorrow. :bigsmile:0
