How much is Overtraining?

Today something unusual happened . I went to gym to do a legs workout. I did cardio for 15mins. It was slower than the usual speed. Then I went to do stepper board squats and lunges. After 2 sets each of 30 counts I could not continue. I was completely drained out. There was no energy at all n I was like dead tired, totally exhausted. I sat for a couple of mins but could not go back to exercise. I asked the trainer at the gym. He said may be you are over training. I worked out on Saturday (legs) n Sunday (Cardio + Abs). Y'day was a rest day. I was feeling sleepy at the beginning but thats usual, happens every day especially after rest days. Finally I returned home without completing my workout . Could it b PMS or over training?

You did not tell us how much training you did on Saturday or Sunday.
Personally (I am no expert) I doubt it is overtraining.
I think it will be a combination of a few things
1) Bad night sleep
2) Not enough sleep
3) Not enough food before you started
4) Not enough fluid.0 -

Everyone has crappy workouts from time to time, overtraining is largely something most trainees never will have to worry about, undertraining is far more prevalent than over training0 -
I trained for approx 2hrs on Saturday (squats, lunges, cardio etc) and 1.5 hrs on sunday (60mins cardio n 30mins abs n floor exercises). I have been wokring out for quite a few months now..0

Sounds like dehydration to me. You might want to check your pulse to eliminate an irregular heartbeat as a cause...other than that, make sure you are sufficiently hydrated before beginning your workout...bet it goes away.0

If you find that happens more often, you can try kicking down the intensity on normal workouts. Like somewhere in your 60-80% range. Sometimes too high intensity work for continuous amounts of time leads to workouts like that. Unlike what a lot of people think, gains can still be made without pushing your limits every single time. But sometimes, it just happens.0
