Black bean, corn and tomato salad

This is a modified version of a salad from a vegetarian cookbook given to my daughter. Originally the rice wasn't included, but I had leftovers from last nights dinner. As it turned out, the whole thing worked well together.

1 can of black beans rinsed
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes cut in half
3-4 green onions sliced thin
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
juice from 1 lime
roughly 1/4 cup olive oil
1 jalapeno seeded and finely diced
1 whole slightly firm avocado diced (on the cusp of ripeness)
1 cup cooked brown rice
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp cumin or to taste

Place the onions and cilantro in a large bowl with the lime juice. Stream the olive oil in while whisking to form an emulsion.
Add the rest of the ingredients, and mix gently.
Cover and let sit for at least 15 min for the flavors to combine.
