Congratulations on joining. I am 66 and joined Jan 3 but I was on weight watchers starting in October of last year. 99% of the people here are going to be very helpful, so if you want to loose you can. Being disabled is not the biggest issue, logging EVERYTHING you eat is a habit you must get use to. I went for 4 weeks, due to an injury without much more then driving or fixing food and still lost. If you would like add me to your friends list and I will try to be as supportive as I can be. I will tell you however if you do not log in everyday and do your diet log in , after 3 days I will delete you. I think that you will find out that is the general feeling on MFP. Good Luck, hope you stay.

You can lose weight by just dropping your intake, and this site is great for keeping tabs on that.
But exercise really helps in lots of ways. It depends what type of disability you have as to what sort of exercise you can do. I use a walking stick after a motorbike accident, so walking/running is out for me - but just try and keep up with me in an aquafitness class!0
