No weight loss first week....

I was really hoping for something! I realize I'm not doing the exercise due to restrictions......several back fusions. I also know it can be more difficult, when you're not looking at a lot of pounds to lose ( 10 pounds). Am I getting discouraged too soon? Another thing that seems wired is that I always weigh heavier in the morning... Any suggestions Re welcome!

    1. Take a *kitten* before you weigh in.
    2. One week is nothing. It takes time.

You are definitely getting discouraged too soon. A week is nothing. My doctor, who is a bit of a hippie and that's why I love him, told me that weight loss is a gradual decrease in weight over time. So you might not see any weight loss for a few weeks, then you might lose a pound, then you might gain a half a pound and so on, but if you look back at say 3-6 months your weight will be lower than it was at the start.

I graph my weight in an Excel spreadsheet so when I get frustrated I can look and say "oh, well maybe I only lost ).2 pounds this week but overall I am down 10, go me."

The less you have to lose, the slower progress is. It will happen if you keep at it.
  • I figured I was jumping the gun, but it helps to hear it!
  • Tricksee...........................Duly noted!
  • I just passed my first week mark and I didn't lose anything either. I was sure I was going to because I lost 4 pounds the two weeks before starting MFP by only drinking water. I'm hoping it'll happen soon enough if I just stick to it!

    Good luck to you!
