I'm 5'9, what should my GW be?

Hello everyone!

I have started my journey at a whopping 248 lbs in January 2013. I am now down to 219.6 as of today! YAY!

But, my question is, what should my goal weight be?
Currently I have my goal weight set at 158 lbs.
I am a large framed woman (my fingers will not touch around the smallest part of my wrist) and I know that this has an influence on my goal weight.

What would you all suggest?

Thanks!

I think you'll know it better when you get there.
I am your height, but small frame and I am 120. I look thin on the top side, but not skinny. I've stopped here because I feel I would dammage my health if I went lower, so now I'm working on lowering my bf%. As you lose weight your standards will change, so it's better to set small goals and enjoy each victory.

I'm the same height as you, also with a large frame. I have my GW set to 150, but it really depends how I feel as I get closer to my goal. According to BMI (yeah, I know, not the most accurate point of reference), a 5'9" woman can be anywhere from 129-169, with the higher weight recommended to those with larger frames.

So I'd say keep your 158 goal and see how you feel as you approach it.

That sounds about right to me, I'm 5'7.5 and my goal weight is 148lbs. That's about 3/4 of the way through the BMI 'healthy' range for me. I'm also pretty big framed so I thought that was a good place to aim for. If you're an inch and a half taller 158lbs sounds spot on. Good luck!
