Help for a super picky eater!

Now, when I say picky eater I'm not exaggerating. I have the diet of a 4 year old (chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mac and cheese). Too many flavors all at once are no good for me. I prefer simple tastes. Its really hard for me to chose healthy foods to eat so if anyone could give some suggestions I'd be willing to give some a try

Best suggestion I could give is to stop being a picky eater.

If you like simple tastes then prepare simple dishes without a lot of seasoning. Grilled chicken breast and steamed veg. Baked white fish and a simple salad. Soup and salad.

Why don't you try gently easing yourself into new foods, so you don't try something completely new and then give up on it as you don't like it.

Have your chicken nuggets but have salad with it, have it enough until you either enjoy or can at least tolerate the salad. Then, take out the chicken nuggets and swap for grilled chicken / turkey whatever you want

Just keep phasing out the old bad foods with the new healthier foods..

Try to figure out what your picky about too, is it the texture or flavour of foods? Find foods which are similar to those you like but are different

Try and fill up more on vegetables. Peas, beans (both green and dried), celery, lettuce and mushrooms are all fairly bland, as is roasted chicken and some types of baked fish and egg whites. If you're not into strong flavors, tofu might also be an option (if you can deal with the mouth feel - I like tofu, but it's not for everybody). If your tastes run to what you think of as "juvenile", look for healthier variations on that theme (think what you would offer that 4 YO if you wanted them to eat healthier).

I used to be an extremely picky eater myself and one day I just had to make myself realize that I wasn't going to die if I tried something new haha! I slowly just started introducing new things to my cooking a little at a time and realized that I liked, no LOVED, a lot of things that I refused to try before. I feel like being a picky eater is more of a mental thing than an actual dislike of certain foods. You've just got to try things and you start getting over being picky.

baby carrots are simple. I got a bag for my dog and she didn't get very many cuz I ended up eating them.
