Estimating calorie burns

I am going to start Aikido on Saturday, the more I say it the more likely I am going to do it lol. It's a 2 hour session, and I guess won't be consistent cardio, but I will be moving most of the time. They mostly have beginners at the moment, and as I can't roll very well I have a feeling that's what I will be doing a lot of lol. I have looked around and people seem to compare it to 30min walking in a two hour class or about 200 cal. I guess I will see our worn out I am after the session and give myself extra calories based on that. I don't want to sell myself short . Does this sound sensible and reasonable?

I am not sure, but I did read this about non-stop mixed martial arts for 2 hours burns 1300 calories or so.
This is a site with Aikido in it also!

    Have fun with it! :)

I hear you about repeating things to make them more likely to happen. I used to be the same way. Now I just "do" things that I plan, just like the Nike commercial.

I will have a look. With aikido you can work super hard, or been doing a lot of standing around. Sensei said you can end up doing the equivalent of 60 or so sit ups in a class. I believe that lol. My 6 year old has been going for a few months and she is getting a lot out of it. It's really helping her co-ordination. She is skinny and all arms and legs lol. They just started the adult classes at the new dojo and there is a few people going. All types. After a few sessions I will be able to help with the kids. They have too Sensei's and a the higher ranked kids help too. But they like an extra adult to wrangle the kids. My little one might be allowed to start at four and half. She is a crazy kid, so they will need me then lol
