I find that I normally am way over my sugars too, and that is often because of the fruit that I'm eating. I'd say as long as the rest of what you're eating is reasonably healthy, that you don't have to worry about it. People on other forums have said that unless you're diabetic and really watching your sugar intake, going over is OK.0

MFP's sugar allowance is ridiculous and yes, should only be used for added sugars not for naturally occurring sugars such as in fruit. hth0

I asked the same question because I was worried about going over my sugar because of fruit too.
As long as your sugar is coming from fruit its ok. I changed my diary to show me fiber instead of sugar so it wouldn't bother me but I always keep an eye on how much is in foods.
Here is the link to the post about it. many people gave good informative answers

I had this same discussion with my Doctor just about 2 weeks ago. Fruit sugar you still have to count in your sugar totals. I was going to drop the apple from my diet plan because of the sugar total and calorie total. Her response was to keep the apple. She said it is the positive things that your body takes from the apple. So, some fruits you need to look past the numbers to see what the fruit is giving back to the body. She said for me to increase the berry intake (Blueberries). She also suggested to incorporate Cantaloupe and Watermelon into my diet. Esspecially Cantaloupe has alot of positives like that of the apple. For me, I took the orange from my diet and inserted more Blueberries and Cantaloupe. I am into my 10th week and as of today I am down 48lbs. I hope this helps. Everyone is different.0

If your worried about sugars, opt for low sugar fruits like berries (raspberries, strawbrries, blueberries, blackberries etc)0
