Belly changes? Sorry if stupid Q

I'm sure I'll probably win the stupid thread award with this but I'm slightly freaked out, so please don't laugh

I was (still am) in the overweight category when I started here, and good bit of the extra weight was post-pregnancy and around my waistline. I've always used to put on any extra pounds on my hips, not my waist before I had children. My stomach was bigger but kind of round smooth shape, not overly hanging, more like an inflated round ring around me.

I have dropped 10lb since and measurements have come down, few inches off the waist (almost nothing off hips and boobs) and now the shape has changed and looks "weird". It's kind of hanging over low-cut bikini, and there is a line at the middle that looks tighter, and the flabby bits are parted on both sides. Sorry not explaining it very well but hope you know what I mean. It visually looks worse than before and if I suck my stomach in it hangs and parts even worse.

WTH is that? Is it a normal stage? Do I need to build more muscle there or is it now some of the fat is gone it's the muscles showing underneath and fat is only attached to some places? Is it because of extra skin?

I'm very unfit and only started walking few weeks ago, I'm ready to look at some extra exercises to do at home.

  • I had my son 7 months ago, and gained alot of weight/excess skin. I'm right there with ya, girl! Use PrepH to help with saggy skin and do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred!! I've been doing it since monday, twice a day, and i've already lost 1/4" off my hips, 1/4" off of each upper arm and 1/4" off of each thigh! In TWO DAYS!!! Stick to it, you'll get there!!!

Thank you! So that is excess skin then? Jeez, I'd better start moisturising and hope it shrinks, my stomach looked way more attractive with those 10lb on than off

Tried 30ds before and gave myself a knee injury, still gives me trouble sometimes so will look for something gentler to begin with. Good luck to you as well, and thanks for the reply. Off to Google hanging skin now (although there is still plenty of fat there!)
