Question about the Weight Loss Cheat Sheet

I just have a quick, hopefully easy question about the Weight Loss Cheat Sheet post. I am always worried that I'm not picking the right exercise modifier when I do these things cuz I usually work out twice a day and most of them just say "how many days a week do you work out". I've been trying to be more reasonable with my calories lately and make sure that I am not undereating, but on the other hand I don't want to pick too high of a modifier and be eating too much....

Here's my question. How accurate do you think it would be if I figured out all my numbers using sedentary and then add the actual calories that I burn (that my chest strap heart rate monitor tracks for me) to that number? That way if I workout more one day or skip a day, my calories would change and I wouldn't be just eating a set amount every day no matter what I do.

Looking forward to what everyone has to say!

Thanks!

I choose lightly active so I don't include any exercise that isn't either strenuous or isn't at least half hour. Basically I keep track of all my exercise because I have the same philosphy - if I don't workout I still want to be at a calorie deficit. I don't have a HRM. I just either use MFP's calorie estimation or the machine I use - once I enter my age and weight. I'm not sure how accurate the calories burned are but it seems to work for me (until recently I hit a plateau) because I lose 1-2 pounds a week.

    Does everyone else agree?
