I don't have kids, but work as a nurse in a Labor and Delivery unit. Not every baby is cute, some are actually a bit scary looking. Sometimes you have to look hard to find something "cute" to comment on, but it's usually there. You can find many ways to word things, shift the focus to the miracle of the delivery, etc but no way am I ever going to be honest when it's a FLK (funny looking kid - a term we sometimes use).
