Housing in Orange County Cali

I live in the eastern sierras of Cali right now and the rent is reasonable. However, I might possibly be looking at a move into Orange County and looking at the housing available is just dismal! Really $1800 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath condo!

How do you all do it? Do you commute all the time? Do you share? The prices are just ridiculous and inflated.

    That sounds about right. That's just how it is here cause of the weather and nice area, lived here all my life! Everyone drives everywhere here because you pretty much can't get anywhere without a car. It is expensive but very nice here. Especially in Southern Orange County.

    Lived there for 33 years and left in 1987. Still have family and friends that I visit, but I wouldn't want to move back and definitely wouldn't want to pay the cost to live there. The traffic is no selling point either.
