I eat yogurt and fruit for breakfast, but its killing my daily sugar intake before I even get to lunch. Besides eggs, what breakfast foods/drinks do you have?? Looking for ideas!

I'll juice up some vegetables, or take a protein shake, or just eat nothing.
In general, if I eat prior to 1pm or so it doesn't sit well with me, unless I've been drinking. I'll do it sometimes socially though, like to take my wife to brunch.0 -
one slice toasted of Killer Dan's sprouted wheat bread (2 sugar) and 1 TBSP almond butter (3 sugar) Holds me until lunch0

It varies:
- Banana and flax oatmeal, (or any other type of flax oatmeal - I've been eating a gluten free one lately) 1/4C blueberries, coffee with creamer...I'll never give up the creamer! lol
- Toasted flax seed bagel with 1tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 banana, 1/4C blueberries, coffee
If I'm out of all that fun stuff, I'll toast a frozen multigrain waffle and have it with 1tbsp peanut butter, 1 tsp honey, some type of fruit and coffee.0 -
It varies-- sometimes I do dry cereal and nuts, sometimes yogurt and fruit, and lately I've been getting into beef jerky again. Anything with significant protein, because my job is physical involving walking and lifting.
If your sugar is only coming from things like yogurt and fruit throughout the day, I wouldn't worry about going over. Try swapping in Greek for regular though, it generally has a bit less sugar and fat (unless you are already eating fat-free) and packs in more protein.0 -
1/2 cup of oatmeal (from the tube _not_ the package) and a scoop of whey.0

Whiskey and strippers.0

Have any of you heard of Shakeology?
70 nutrients, 1 glass! I have it everyday for breakfast and its without a doubt the best health decision I have made!! Its so fast, easy, delicious and jam packed with nutrients. I could tell major improvements within days!0 -
How about a slice of whole grain bread with a small banana or maybe low sugar fruit oatmeal. The oatmeal might hold you over until lunch a little better than the banana sandwich..
english muffin with turkey bacon/sausage. Just some ideas.. :}0 -
Each morning I have a serving of Special-K Oats & Honey cereal with Full Circle Original Unsweetened Almond Milk and a banana (with 16 ounces of water to drink).0
-
I have an egg on a flat bread with a slice of cheese. A tall cold glass of water & a banana.0

I usually just do a banana or a frigo light cheese stick so my breakfast is usually jusst 50-110 calories, but I eat at 630am, then I'll eat a snack around 10am and lunch at noon or 1pm. I also have the carnation instant breakfast thats in a can no sugar added one that is 150 calories, and I love those!0

Special K Protein Shake partially frozen mixed with 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk! YUM!:drinker:0

For breakfast I have a hard boiled egg and a mean green. (homemade vegetable juice recipe for my juicer).0

I wouldn't worry too much about sugar if it's from fruit - that's the good kind!
I usually eat a fruit OR yogurt and 2 eggs.0 -
Usually a granola bar and a couple of large glasses of water. That's about all I can handle at 4 am and it does typically hold me over until lunch time. Sometimes I will do a slice of toast and/or an egg. More on the weekends if DH decides to cook--but that is usually more of a combined breakfast/lunch.0

Atkins Advantage Mocha Latte Protein Shake
15g Protein
1g Sugar
160 Calories
2 Net Carbs0 -
I make a smoothie - Whey protein, blueberries, 1/2 banana, plain yogurt, ice and water or small amount of juice.
I find I need a lot of protein to loose weight. So this helps.
Other days I have steel cut oatmeal with honey. Sometimes I add TVP for the extra protein.
Greek Omlet is my favorite with my husband. 3 eggs, spinach and feta cheese.0 -
Either steel cut oats and almond milk or some sort of smoothie.0

I don't like eating when I first get up. So, I either skip breakfast or I have some cottage cheese with an individual container of mandarin oranges (packed in juice or water).
1 cup of cottage cheese & 1 container of Dole (packed in juice) mandarin oranges comes up to 230 calories; 33 carbs; 5g of fat; and packs in 23g of protein.
I'm not sure what the sugar count is as I don't have that macro set up on my diary. You could lower the cals, carbs & sugar a bit by going with the Del Monte brand oranges packed in artificially sweetened water.0 -
Oatmeal
I know you said aside from eggs but if I eat breakfast, I am more likely to eat those - I change it up by adding ham, pepper (esp red bell) and sometimes cheese
Coffee
To tell you the truth - breakfast for me is trouble.
If I drink just coffee, I don't get hungry until my lunch at 1.
When I eat breakfast, I get hungry earlier and eat more through the day.0 -
Most Days: 1-2 eggs, hard boiled if I'm at work, scrambled at home
with a lower suagr fruit like strawberries or 1 piece of thin sliced toast or bacon/ham
I also make a protein shake with EAS whey protein & almond milk with either strawberries/bananas or pb2
On days when I forget or have no time (but time to stop) I have coffee and a Dunkin Donuts egg & cheese wake-up wrap0 -
Arbonne Chocolate Protein Shake, mixed with 1 cup of unsweetened Almond Coconut milk, additional water and some ice. Also, Almased shakes are very good and low glycemic. If I am still hungry I will have a hard boiled egg. The hard boiled egg is my go to snack and I always have one (prepeeled and salted) in my lunch bag or fridge.0

Here are some of the things I may have for breakfast:
- bowl of oatmeal and I'll add some chopped walnuts, fresh strawberries and blueberries.
- I might have half an avocado, slice of whole wheat bread and a hard boiled egg.
- 2 slices of whole wheat toast with all natural peanut butter and half banana.
- a lot of the times i'll have a fruit smoothie..I'll add half a banana, whatever frozen berries I may feel like having that day, a cup of Almond milk and I'll add a protein powder. Very filling a nutritious0 -
I usually just swallow my shame, and call myself a cab in the morning.0
-
On a workday, plain oatmeal-- I'm usually not hungry enough to want anything else but I know if I skip breakfast my stomach will growl up a storm while I try to work. On days where I eat later in the day, I like to have a bowl of kimchi (favorite option) or a veggie mix of brocolli, asparagus, spinach, and onions with some hummus. A breakfast wrap with some grilled chicken, eggs or egg whites, spinach, chopped onion, garlic, a bit of feta, and a bit of sweet chili or sun dried tomato dressing is another option I'll use. If it's a day where I'm not in a rush I'll pretty much just see whats around and fix something.0
-
I like to keep it simple and quick. Some times I'll do egg and toast or oatmeal and banana or some times a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats.0
-
Green tea. That's it. ;-)0
