Hello! I was just wondering if anyone else was a makeup and beauty product guru like myself.
I'm hardly a pro, and I go out all the time without makeup, just like to use my face as a canvas from time to time!
If you're a beauty guru too, what products do you use? What's your favorite look? Hope this isn't a repeat thread!
ETA my latest creation, also my profile pic!

I never leave the house without a full face of makeup, I change my look daily based on my mood and what I am wearing. I love anything by Urban Decay, I love anything from Sephora (I can easily walk in there and spend $300 on product and not even flinch LOL), I have two drawers worth of makeup products and I use most of them LOL I am big on eyes, and I like them dramatic, I want people to notice them, so the bolder the better
PS - you can check my profile pics to see a few of the different looks I use.0 -

Awesome! All the makeup on my face with the exception of my powder/foundation/primer which are all Rimmell London, is from Sephora. It's a box I got for Christmas and it is literally the most amazing makeup I've ever owned. I felt like doing a smokey eye/pale lip today a la Jennifer Lawrence
Also I use a MAC 263 brush for my eyeliner, best 19 dollars I've ever spent!0 -
Well, my friends always ask me to help them with their make up when they have a party to get to, but I don't wear much myself. Lately, I prefer absolutely no make up except for lip balm! But when I see my husband again, I'll probably be using it a little more often (mascara, blush, eyeliner and sometimes eye shadow too), Still not sure though what blush color looks best on me, I usually use a bronze one cause I'm kind of brown, and I'm usually tanned big time in the summer.0

I'm pretty much obsessed with makeup. It's just so much fun!
I love Urban Decay. It's probably my favourite brand of makeup. I also use a lot of NYX because it's really inexpensive and relatively decent. And Smashbox is good too! I use Smashbox foundation primer and their Hyperlash mascara is my FAAAVOURITE.
I've been dying to try OCC liptars because I've heard so many great things about them, but I've yet to purchase one, but it's on my to-buy list!!!
One of my favourite things to do is over the top drag makeup, though. I mostly practice on myself because I've only ever gotten a couple guys to let me play with their faces, but it's so so so so so much fun. Here's an example of that:
I still need to work a lot on contouring but hey, I think it's pretty decent. Also, an actual professional sort of famous drag queen 'liked' that photo on Instagram SO I MEAN, CLEARLY SHE APPROVES.
But yeah. Makeup is fun. And I like it a lot.0 -
Haha that's awesome! I agree, try more contour on the nose and more liner around the lips, and you'd be spot on!!!
Even though it's cheapest stuff you can find, I swear by Maybelline Great Lash (the stuff in the god awful pink and green bottle). I have tried many others and nothing comes close to my good ol' Great Lash! I've heard amazing things about Urban Decay but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I like Sephora and MAC is good but it's sooo expensive! I mostly get brushes there because those are high quality. Like I said earlier, my 263 is my favorite. Great for eyeliner and filling in my brows.0 -
I am not a make-up guru.
But I can get all my makeup on in less than 10 minutes start to finish. Don't I get some sort of title for that? No, wait, I don't want to hear it.0 -

Hahaha that is a feat I've yet to master!!! I need to learn how to do this!0 -

OCC is amazing! A little bit goes a long way and it lasts nearly all day. And I thought I was the only one that loves over the top drag style makeup!0 -

I used to be the same way, but once you practice and learn the tricks to great makeup, you can do everything in 10 minutes. Which includes simple things such as putting on lipstick (or gloss) to contouring/highlighting.0 -
I totally want to try doing drag makeup, but my fiance would look at me so funny!!! Haha. I'll wait til he's not home!0

I love it! The fake eyelashes, the glittery eye shadow, the dramatic eye, cheek contouring..I can go on and on! And maybe your boyfriend would like it..I was over the top when I first met my bf so he knew the trouble he was getting into!0

I have sensitive skin and I use physicians formula and neutragena. I used to work for Macys and many of the ingredients in stuff like Clinique and Esta Lauder are the same. They are almost all owned my Lancome.0 -

Hehe I can get my make up done in 15 minutes! I'm getting there
For me I don't really wear make up unless I'm going to a wedding (and that's very rare!). However, I do love wearing eyeliner and lipgloss I used to be big on the designer brands (worked in the beauty section of a department store), but I find the cheaper stuff works just as well! My favourite lipgloss is by Dior and is a dark plum colour (can't remember the name of it lol). I also loved Virtuose mascara by Lancôme. Got it as a gift many moons ago and loved how it made my lashes super long! But like I said, the cheaper works just as well for me the only designer make up I have in my make up bag now is my Bobbi Brown foundation, because MAC doesn't like me (my skin goes grey with their stuff o.o) and this one worked best for me. I paid a lot of money for it, so it has to work0 -
I use NO 7 for every day use work shopping ect. but when going out it is ybf which I love and it is expensive but it does last me x0

I'm not a beauty guru myself, but I can tell you I spend about 80% of my time on youtube (which I can assure you is far too much) watching other beauty gurus! I absolutely love makeup, but I tend to stick to the cheaper brands i.e. Maybelline, Revlon. My cousin bought me an awesome eyeshadow pallet online that is brandless, but it is absolutely awesome and super pigmented and I tend to use it for almost all of my makeup looks.0

hey ladies! , I am an esthetician and makeup artist, I have worked in spas, makeup counters for Estee Lauder, Lancome, Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, Clarins, and managed a beauty supply store/hair salon...I love makeup! in fact I am hoping that once I lose some weight, my back will get better so that I can get back to work, and my dream is to get into special effect makeup!, how awesome would that be!!,
Sadly, I can honestly tell you from experience and education, that most of all makeup and skin care do the same basic things :S, I know shocking, the only time I have ever been disappointed in a cheap makeup product was when a friend of mine asked me to do her makeup and she gave me this eye shadow kit she got for christmas from a drug store lol!, now that is cheap stuff!, it doesn't even adhere to the skin, it falls right off lol!, truth is, most up-scale makeup and skin companies will claim they have added benefits by adding certain ingredients, while scientifically, they are not able to do anything beneficial as they are not absorbed deep enough into the skin..you can find the almost exact copies in the drug store brands.
Once an up scale company comes out with a product, like take for instance lancome, several years ago came out with a mascara that had a comb instead of a brush attachment (can't remember the name of it!, and they don't sell it anymore), well the drug store brands quickly followed suit within a couple months if I remember right lol!, also, all mascara is once again all the same, it is the brush that makes the difference!, that is why most makeup artist use great lash (the pink bottle) as we always have to use disposable mascara wands for hygienic reasons anyways so the cheap stuff is what we use .
The only outstanding product I love that is not from a drug store is the studio finish concealer from Mac, amazing stuff!, there probably is a generic copy, but I was so happy with it that I stopped looking lol!.
For under eye concealer, I like one with light reflecting properties as it really helps to conceal imperfections and dark circles, you can find these types in the drug stores as well .
For the woman who said she didn't know what color of blush she should use, well find out if you are a warm or cool shade, you can tell this by looking at the veins in your wrist, if they are green tinged, you are "warm", if they are blue tinged you are cool, next google the color wheel chart, or google what are warm or cool blush colors, and there you go...also, I personally always use bronzer and I apply a little blush to the apples of my cheeks .
My favorite look is a smokey eye, or 50's pinup dramatic makeup .
For those with a liquid eyeliner issues: rest your hand on your cheek and dot along lash line and connect the dots and make the outer corners thicker, done. you can do it lol!, (most asked question).
Also only contour for photos!, it is really unnatural looking and people see it, you can LIGHTLY contour with bronzer in the hollow of your cheekbones and under chin and sides of face, but BLEND WELL!0 -
I do think there is a difference between drug store makeup like eyeshadow and "brand name" things, but that being said, there are a lot of amazing drug store finds! I love my Sephora makeup kit though, especially the liners and shadows, they stay on for the whole day! Plus you don't have to pack a lot on to get it to pop, what you see is what you get.
There is such a thing as a good brush and a bad brush, though! MAC makes great brushes Really high quality and the hairs don't fall out, lol.0 -

Haha, same! I love Sharon Farrel, she's awesome and Irish, the accent makes it more fun!Do you all have any suggestions for drugstore concealer? I haven't found any I like, so I have to buy expensive brands
I use Rimmel London Fix and Perfect in 001 for primer. It looks orange, but it has no color on your skin.
Then I use Rimmel London Clean Finish also in 001 for foundation.
Then I set it with Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder...also in 001  I'm super pale, and they are the only brand I've found that matches my skin tone without adding a gray or orange tint. Rimmel is great0
