Calorie Cycling?

I'm pretty much where I want to be weight-wise. I would like to drop a couple of body fat percentage points without sacrificing my lean muscle mass. I've come across an article on calorie cycling that I would like to try. I wanted to see if anyone had tried this and what your results were.
My plan is:
5 days 1800 calories
2 days 1500 calories
3 days 1800 calories
2 days 1500 calories
2 days 1800 calories
2 days 1500 calories
And then start the cycle again. I plan to lift 3 days per week and do cardio for between 30-60 minutes per day for 6 days. I have a Body Media armband and my average TDEE is 2400.

What exactly did this article say calorie cycling was supposed to accomplish. You will maintain more lean muscle by using the muscle, lifting heavy, keeping active, etc. I don't understand what the point of calorie cycling would be. Can you explain?0

The purpose was to keep your metabolism fired up and not eat at too low of a level. I posted the link. As I said before I have not tried this yet myself.
