Figured I would give this a try. Seems like it will be pretty easy. Might be hard on the eating side of things do to the great food in this state. Just thought I would drop by and say hey.

Welcome! I too am from La.

Yes, some of our food is hell on here. It hasn't been too bad for me, cuz I started this after much of "gumbo season" was over. Rice and roux, man,... it'll kill ya. That and fried food. Oh, how I long for a poboy!

Boiled crawfish on the other hand - completely doable.

The biggest problem I am having has been the salt content. If you're like me, you read salt and pepper instructions on a recipe and go "whatever" and grab the Tony's. I've had to work to break out of that habit, but I still can't on my morning eggs. :)

    Best of luck!

Hey---Luling! I'm originally from Houma. I live in Dallas now. I'm actually going to Houma this weekend for my little bro's graduation. Welcome to My Fitness Pal (MFP). There is some GREAT food down south. OMGOSH...SO good! hahahaha...I think you'll like this site. It's helped me a lot. Again, Welcome and good luck on your progress ;)

Wow I actually live in luling. lol My biggest problem is getting full. I have a hard time consuming plenty of water. I tend to drink more gatorade and powerade. I have been woring out for a few months but not doing enough cardio. My strength is where I want it to be, just need to do more cardio to burn some of the fat. Food probably wont be a serious challenge with this site. I just started today and it actually is helping a good bit. I have not eatin as much as I normally would. I'm very interested in seeing where I stand a month after getting help from MFP.
