Lower ab moves while standing?

Hi all.
So my lower abdominal muscles SUCK! I can't keep my legs in the air for more than 1/2 a second and all I can really do is bicycle crunches and reverse crunches. I can't do scissor kicks or any moves with my feet off the ground. I really mean that I can't. My legs either drop as soon as they're up or my back flies up (even when holding 8lb dumbbells in each hand).

I can do push ups and planks but don't really feel it that much down there..

Are there standing exercises I can do to strengthen up? ): Thank you!

You might want to try dead lifts. I know a lot of women (trying not to stareotype) who don't like using weights, but man do they work the abs out top to bottom (as well as your legs and back).

Edit: Get someone who knows how to do a proper deadlift to show you how, or really pay attention to anything you might want on YouTube. It works a wide variety of mucles, and with bad form you can damage 'em all.

I second deadlifts, especially if you can lift heavy weights. It's a HUGE core blaster. Google "core moves"...Hanging lifts are fun, too.
