which is better for the long run? and did I screw up by doing sl 5x5 first? I have done almost 11 weeks of it and im scared im going to lose what little muscle and strength that I gaoined along the way. im almost donereading the book, and tonight I plan on filling out the sheets, also.... should I take a break between the two programs or just the basic one day off and then start it? I am sposed to do sl5x5 workout a tnight and "b" Friday, then Saturday is my rest day.. should I go ahead and abandon workout "b" for Friday and start on Friday with nr?

I know I am all over the place here, but I ddont want to screw up..

Is Strong Lifts working? I'd keep using it until it doesn't work anymore myself. I want to get started here soon, but it looks like a program that could work for a long time before you top out.

    my two cents.

When you start to plateau in Stronglifts regularly then you switch to a the 3x5 programme on the SL website :)

And you haven't stuffed up by doing Stronglifts first. If you want to switch to NROLFW then just switch. You haven't messed up your starting point or anything :)

There is no right or wrong. I depends on which one you end up liking more.

I started with New Rules and found I couldn't complete it because I got terribly bored with it. To me, it seemed more complicated than it should be. I probably feel this way because I'm the type of person who likes things simple.

StrongLifts is "simple". 3 exercises per session, 5 sets of 5 reps. Done. Lift more weights next time. Repeat.

Bottom line: You will be more likely to stick with a routine you like, than one you don't.
