    Does it matter?

Will you decide not to do it if it takes a year?

Nope! I'm up for the challenge :) I'm actually asking because I want to know what shows to get my hopes up for haha. I have auditions in the fall and spring of next year and it will help me decide what parts to go after and what shows to/not to audition for.

    LOL what even is this.

There's nothing wrong with asking questions.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to set realistic expectations.

It is okay to want to know what you're in for in the coming months.

I started at 229 and lost 62 lbs in 12 months, 85 lbs in 18 months. Good luck!

My experience is I have lost 30-35 pounds since May 2012. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and do cardio. I am Hypothyroid and the exercise is remove the weight from my body. I was 238 lbs. Today, I am 208. So, It has taken me 11 months to lose 30 pounds. Times two may get your answer.

However, please note that I have lost 6 inches around my waist. 4.5 inches left my hips. 1.75 inches from my neck. Also, I lost 3 inches from my chest. So, please measure yourself along the way for the best metric for your body.

I started out at 221 pounds last May 17th 2012...As of this morning I am 156.4, so 64.6 pounds lost, half a pound away from 65 and yesterday was my 11 month mark from starting.

I closely watch what I eat and eliminated convenience and fast food, I go to the gym 5 days a week for an hour where I do 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes strength training.

My ultimate goal is 130, so 26.4 more pounds that I would be thrilled to hit by the end of this year, so I'm guessing 18 months to lose 91 pounds and go from 221 to 130, I'm 5'4 and 30 years old.

I agree - a slower pace ensures a steady weight loss. It's taken me about 2 years to lose 60 lbs, but it's also been easier to keep off, and I haven't had the yo-yo effect either. I work out about 8-10 hours/week and eat around 1500-1600 calories. The last 15 pounds have definitely been the most stubborn. :) Keep up the great work, and you'll be there before you know it!

I have found that I am averaging about 1 lb loss every 5 days. It isn't that exact, but every time I hit a milestone number on MFP that is divisible by 5 it seems to be equal to my weight loss. Some weeks I feel like the scale isn't moving really at all, and other weeks I seem to lose a little every day. But I am only about 75 days into it and I haven't hit a real plateau, even if it feels like it to me at times.
It does seem slow, but as long as I am headed in the right direction, I just remind myself, How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. And how will I lose this weight, one pound at a time.
I think that if I tried to reduce my calories more than I currently have them my energy would be too low, and I would be more apt to throw in the towel.
Hopefully others that say the slower it comes off the easier to maintain are right. Because it really feels like a slow process for me, and I am hoping for at least that perk to this long path.

I ahree with others - about a year. I'm just over 3 and a half months and just hit the 23lb mark today (but not official weigh-in until Sunday!) Don't go too crazy, and just think of the long term benefits :)

I don't think that's why she's asking. It's important to make goals so that you have something to aim for. Knowing how long it might take to get to your goal weight is a good way to know where to set your mini goals.
